Dr Herselman has lived in the Comox Valley since 2001, with his wife and two children.
Dr Herselman received his medical degree from the University of Pretoria in South Africa. He immigrated to Canada in 1994, obtaining certification in Family Medicine(CCFP) in 2000 and Specialty certification in Emergency Medicine(CCFP-EM) in 2001. He practiced as an Emergency physician for 17 years, eventually serving as Chief of Emergency Medicine. He was also the Medical Director of St Joseph’s General Hospital, Comox, British Columbia before embarking on a career change.
He subsequently completed diplomas in Dermatology with Queen Mary University of London, UK, and the Australian Institute of Dermatology, Queensland Australia, both with distinction. He also holds several certificates in Dermoscopy, Skin cancer surgery etc. He has been providing a General Practice consultancy service in skin disorders since 2017.
